House Urges NFF to Immortalise Past Coaches

The House of Representatives  has urged the Nigeria football  federation  to find a way of immortalising Late. Stephen Keshi and Amodu Shaibu.


The matter raised under public urgent importance  notes the sudden death of  two former coaches, Stephen Keshi and  Amodu Shaibu within the space of four days in Benin City the Edo state capital.

Members contributing to  the motion said the two iconic Nigerians served the country meritoriously and now their demise is not only a huge loss to the country and their families but to the International  community  as well.

Late Stephen Keshi died on Tuesday 7th June aged 54 while Amodu Shaibu died on Friday 10th June.

Stephen Keshi was the only Nigerian who had won the Nation's cup both  as a player and Coach.

Amodu Shaibu  was the National  coach on four different  occasions during which the team won bronze medals twice at the African cup of Nations in Mali 2002 and Angola 2010.He was also the Nigerian  football  federation  technical adviser until his demise.
