Meanwhile,speaker House of Representatives has said the inefficient downstream sector
of Nigeria overtime has enriched the elite at the expense of the masses.
The speaker said this in Abuja, at a stakeholders summit on petroleum industry reforms organised by the house committees on petroleum.
Dogara observed that the country has not been able to maximise effectively its immense oil and gas potentials and the revenue accruing from it.
He lamented that decades after the advent of Nigeria’s petroleum industry, problems which led to host communities' agitation remains unaddressed and highly politicised.
The speaker said on three occasions, he had publicly requested the executive to send a bill on the intended reforms of President Muhammadu Buhari in the petroleum sector.
