REBUILDING NORTH EAST:Lawmakers call to Investigate diversion of funds.


Legislators have called for the need to investigate alleged  diversion of funds meant for the internally  displaced persons in the North-East.
This led to the House of Representatives  mandating its committees on Emergency  and Disaster Preparedness,Aids,loans and debt management and the committee on IDPs and North East Initiative to jointly investigate the source and utilization  of these funds.
The motion sponsored by a member representing Gombe state, Ali Isa noted that a number of International  communities and donor organizations  has publicly declared monetary donations in support of the rehabilitation  of the IDPs in the North East.
Members Contributing to the motion said the state of the camps and the living conditions of the Internally displaced persons are appalling as lives are being lost.
Chairman House committee on IDP Sani Zoro condemned the act of some unpatriotic Nigerians whom the  welfare of these IDPS were entrusted.
Nigeria is faced with not just ending insurgency, but reconstructing and rehabilitating the North East.
