Vili Fualaau has filed for legal separation from Mary Kay Letourneau, 20 years after he first fell in love with his then-grade school teacher. Nigerian Government says primary and secondary schools in the country will soon start teaching Mathematics and Science subjects in indigenous languages. Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu said this at the inauguration of inter-ministerial committee on teaching of mathematics and science subjects in local languages in Abuja on Wednesday. He said the inter-ministerial committee would help to develop the capacity of the local languages to serve as effective tools for teaching mathematics and science subjects. Onu said various countries like India and China adopted a related strategy by teaching mathematics and the science subjects in their indigenous languages at the primary school level.   Tragedy struck in the ancient city of Kano on Monday when a newly wedded woman set her husband and herself ablaze in Kano over alleged infidelity. The woman was said to have lit a petrol keg in their No 54 Middle Road residence in the Sabon Gari area of the city, which exploded, engulfing herself and the husband. The husband, who did not die on the spot, was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention where he later died, after suffering severe burns from the fire. It was learnt that the woman, accused her husband of infidelity, shortly after she heard a conversation of her husband with an unidentified lady over the telephone. She reportedly got angry and lit a keg of petrol within reach, which eventually exploded and engulfed their home at about 12am on Tuesday. A Kano State member of the Federal House of Representatives, Garba Durbunde, who represents Sumaila/Takai federal constituency of have been kidnapped, according to unconfirmed sources. According to Premium Times, Durbunde was kidnapped along Kaduna- Jere road on Tuesday while on his way to Kano from Abuja . Abdulrazak Namdas, the spokesman of the House of Representatives, said he was not aware of the incident. “I am not aware of this but I was told some papers have carried it” he said But a lawmaker who pleaded anonymity reportedly confirmed the incident. He said the family of the kidnapped lawmaker are already in contact with the kidnappers.
